General Wesley Clark made some comments recently about John McCain's war record. He didn't assail what McCain went through as a POW, or trash his military experience. He said that McCain's experience doesn't necessarily make him ready to be Commander in Chief.
He's right. It doesn't. But the press jumped on this, and framed it as a smear. Funny, their reaction was quite different when the soldier in question was John Kerry, and the actual smears came from the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth."

Clark won't back down
In a statement to reporters, retired General Wes Clark repeats that McCain is a "hero" but also reiterates his point that McCain's service didn't give him "executive experience. . ."
