Yeah, I know that the headline is misleading. Good. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) certainly deserves it, given the spew that came out of his mouth this week. "Sexual Orientation" is not an ambiguous term. It encompasses heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality and the shades of gray between those three terms. It is possible that you could extend it to asexuality, and some people like the term "pansexuality," but it basically just has to do with what gender a person is sexually attracted to, or not.
It does not include fetishes. It does not include paraphilias. It does not extend to unwanted or non-consensual types of sex. And it is damned sure time that idiots like Gohmert were shamed by their behavior. On the other hand, with all of the talk of a Republican resurgence in 2010 or '12, I'm encouraged that the GOP's brightest lights are about as brilliant as small appliance bulbs.
