So, what exactly in the Obama Administration mirrors this environment for the other side? Yes, I understand that moderately bad things seem worse when you're on the opposing political side. But what exactly has occurred in the last 16 months that has the right-wing's hackles up? So far, the anger from the right has been frothiest around the perceived government "takeover" of things (and how convenient that "takeover" is always in Frank Luntz's talking points). So, government oversight of health care, GM and other things is the big monster that makes them scream "I want my country back?" Really? You want your country back for big corporations? Somehow, it doesn't get me into a lather.
And yet, right-wing world is making pronouncements like this. . .

That's just a taste of the rantings from FreeRepublic.com (from a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" forum). Tell me, is it just the flip side of the coin, or is there a difference in paranoia levels here?
Whatever the disorder is, it seems to be highly contagious. The transmission vector seems to be electronic media; the infectious agents are virus-like memes. With repeated exposure they get into a person's brain. The first thing to go seems to be critical thinking.

In short, Bush was an imbecilic self-righteous moron, guilty of war crimes, and possibly in some way guilty of the mass murders on 9/11. In the same manner as Clintons proven involvement in the OKC - Waco murders.

Every living President, Congressional Representative, Senator, Judge, and Bureaucrat, that aided them in their crimes, should accompany them to the gallows.
I would not weep for a single ones brutal death, for they are all quite deserving of such a fate. The only question left to ask, is do the supporters of these venomous vermin deserve an equal fate? My vote is YES.

ReplyDeleteI'll leave the Bush and Clinton stuff alone. The Obama stuff though (and this comes from someone who would've voted for a futon with a "D" painted on it over a Republican in 2008, so Obama was my pick, not my messiah):
Self-annointed? Nah. Imagined by the right as "The One" or "The Annointed." There were some swooning Obamabots to be sure (just like there were Hillary fetishists), but I don't recall Obama seeing himself that way.
Racist bigot? His mom was white, his dad was black. . .who is he a racist bigot AGAINST?
Anti-Constitutionalist? Wasn't he a Constitutional scholar or professor or whatever? Whatever. . .
Anti-American? The phrase became a slogan (like "Freedom!" or "Liberty!") in the last decade, so I'm not even sure what it means anymore. Patriotism became Nationalism in the Bush Era, so it isn't always clear what is meant by "Anti-American."
Dictator? Bush was actually the one who can be quoted wanting to be a dictator.
And for the life of me, I have no idea what Obama has done that would qualify for the gallows. Certainly no more so than any other President in my lifetime.
Are you really saying that supporters of any recent president deserve the death penalty? REALLY? You envision a very, very small US population, don't you? What branch of politics are you, anyway? Anarchist? Nihialist?
