Republicans Quick to Get in Bed with Big Business

The Tea Party, along with other conservatives who believed that Republicans would be different this time are bound to be quickly disappointed. Unless they turn a blind eye like they did for most of the Bush Administration, there is soon going to be some massive dissent.  The 112th Congress isn't even seated yet, and there are massive fund raisers, big promises to big business. And then there's this from the new Governor of Florida.

Incidentally, in addition to looking extremely creepy (which is perhaps a shallow characterization), Rick Scott is also actually creepy, which is damned near empirical. I predict that this Congress brown-noses up to business in such a blatant fashion that the tea baggers actually get pissed off. And that among Republican Governors, Scott becomes one of the more brazen offenders. Just a feeling.

This afternoon, Rick Scott was sworn in as the 45th governor of Florida. Scott, the former head of scandal-plagued Columbia/HCA hospital operation, is worth around $219 million and frequently said during the campaign that the $73 million in personal funds he spent to be elected meant he was simply a “businessman with no ties to special interests. . .”
