Do We Have a Deal? Obama Drops His Price for Boehner

Wait, I'm not sure "dropping his price" is quite accurate. Oh well, it's a decent headline. What actually happened is, the $250,000 tax hike is now the $400,000 tax hike. So everyone gets to keep the Bush tax cut on their first $400,000 in income, and then everything after that gets a new, higher rate. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that moving the goalposts was even necessary. The $250K number has been Obama's campaigning point for over four years. It polls well. So why cave to orange-faced, perpetually drunk (allegedly) John Boner Boehner? Ah, well. If it gets this stupid "fiscal cliff" business taken care of, whatever.
