McCain/Lieberman '08?

Photo from source, 23/6

I thought that Joe Lieberman was an odd choice for VP back when Al Gore was running for President. And I really didn't know much about him at the time. Now that I know he's a DINO (Democrat in Name Only), and barely that, considering that since 2006 he's been the sole member of the Connecticut for Lieberman Party.

But in this quest for "change," the over-played but accurate buzz word for the 2008 race, can you picture it? 70-something John McCain, along side droopy-dog Joe Lieberman versus, say Barack Obama? It would look like Dole vs. Clinton, circa 1992. The old guys with one last chance, vs. the new, the young, the change. The visual would be equally apparent with Edwards, perhaps a bit less so with Clinton, but still. . . And don't forget, McCain has pissed off lots of conservatives, and McCain has pissed off lots of liberals. Doesn't sound like a winning ticket to me.

It's nice that Mac is back, but did he have to bring that guy?

Former POW/Arizona senator/GOP presidential hopeful/ferret owner John McCain has been cutesily evading questions about whether he'll pick his colleague and campaign buddy Joe Lieberman as his running mate in the 2008 presidential election, given their mutual love of the Iraq war and status as party-befuddling mavericks. When asked about the "Lieberman factor", McCain gushed, "He'd be a great partner in any endeavor."
