While I personally feel that this campaign hasn't been nearly as ugly as the press is reporting it, it is clear that public perception is following along. I've gotten into heated arguments about it at work, with someone on my own side! So, maybe it is time for cooler heads to prevail, and for Obama and Clinton to bury the hatchet. In John McCain. That's the advice of Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR), and let's hope it's heeded.

Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., today urged presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to stop attacking one another. [snip]
"The heated rhetoric between both campaigns has continued to intensify as we head into the Pennsylvania primary," DeFazio wrote in a sternly worded letter to the Democratic senators. "While you trade barbs, McCain is uniting the Republican Party around his thinly disguised right wing agenda. . ."
