I described Michele Bachmann's clothing at Wednesday's debate as a majorette's uniform. My good friend
Stupid Monkey Planet saw it a little differently. Either way, it was surely picked out by her
fabulous husband, Marcus.

It would have been funnier if he'd photo-shopped her into the poster for the 1970s movie musical with Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees.
ReplyDeleteNice job with the 'picture click' Dear Editor. Love the animated Beatle-do!
ReplyDelete@ Ms. Ordinary Jill...
It would depend on what version of the movie poster you are referencing. Not all of them lend themselves, as well, to a photoshop job. (I'm still an artist at heart & can't escape it...)
Anyhow, I was shooting for the fifth Beatle bit.
But whattayagonnado? Everyone's a critic -eh?
Monkey, I don't know why the animated gif isn't working on the main page. I've added a caption so people know it's there. Thanks for the hard work!
ReplyDeleteAs a Beatles fan, I guess I just got cranky at the idea of Michelle Bachmann trying to push her way into the group. But I also have an appreciation for high camp, so I would love to see her associated with that craptacular 1970s musical. This image would work:

Please?
You got it Jill... Two shakes of a lamb's tail.
ReplyDeleteAnd for the record, I too am a fan of The Beatles. Happen to have a number of their singles in my (and our Dear Editor's) 45 playing juke box.
Growing up in a musical (leaning hippie) home there were always notes coming from the radio, stereo, quadraphonic, 78 rpm, 8-track player. Jimi, Santana, The Doors, Queen, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, Elvis, Jefferson, Doobies, Temptations, Janis, The Carpenters, Otis Day... on & on... The Beatles were, of course, among them.
Consequently, I remember the Lennon assassination, sadly, in my household.
In thinking about it, I have to say that I am quite thankful for my parents' musical listening diversity. I think it probably helps shape a politically aware, healthy, reasonable mind.
