I'm not surprised anymore by the Bush Administration's violations of the US Constitution. Here, it would appear, companies most of us use everyday won't deny helping the NSA in their "warrantless wiretaps"--a phrase that probably could use an update. That's not surprising.
What is surprising to me is the die-hard conservatives views on this, which seems to be "Whatever Bush wants to do is fine by me!" All in the name of security, even though there is evidence that this all started before 9/11, but did not stop 9/11. Weren't conservatives at one time against over-reaching government intrusion? Didn't they used to go apeshit over stuff like this?
Just remember, conservatives, one day--possibly soon--a Democrat will be in the Oval Office. And then it might just be impossible to reverse any of this stuff, if it isn't stopped now. You can't put toothpaste back in the tube, you can't stuff the genie back in the bottle, you can't close Pandora's box, and you can't stop the Terminators after you create SkyNet!
