Well, as the world can see... what happens in Vegas doesn't really stay in Vegas.
As a resident of Las Vegas we do get to see an interesting perspective on the story as it is more localized & thorough. We read Governor Gibbons statements on it, watch Mayor Goodman bitch about it, see the doctors plea & then get to see how they decide to spend the money they've received in fines thus far. Added to that, we get the pleasure of the local lawyer ads... saying things like, '...if you have ever even been near the clinics & have ever felt ill at any time in your life, call me & I can get you big bucks...' In the end, we get to see how everybody is sorry & it won't happen again... & we get the requisite promise that we will 'clean up our act'...
Doesn't this all sound all too much like the drunkard or drug addict mixed among one's family or friends. I promise I will change... it'll never happen again... I need help... got any money???
I think this is a symptom of the sickness this country currently is afflicted with. Too many things are being corrected after the damage has been done. There is a total lack of oversight in the industries we used to be able to count on. One can no longer go to the grocery store, tire store, toy store, pet store, restaurant, pharmacist, doctor or drink water without worrying that something or someone in there may kill you or your loved ones.
This Bushit administration has allowed the rules to be broken, relaxed, bent, eliminated, ignored or changed to suit the pocketbooks of their respective donors. And we the people get to pay for it first with our wallets then with our health & then with our wallets again. It is time to put our diseased, drug addicted, drunken country into rehab.
