Republicans Criticize Obama's Stage Dressing

We are by now used to inane criticisms from the John McCain campaign and Republicans about Barack Obama. The big one today is the stage dressing of Invesco Field/Mile High Stadium. They've dressed it up patriotically, with a facade that brings to mind the columned buildings and monuments around Washington, D.C.

Predictably, Republicans are whining that it looks like Mount Olympus, which of course plays into Rush Limbaugh's "Lord Obama, the Great and Merciful" slur. It doesn't come off that way on television though. I see a set evocative of the White House, with seventy-some-thousand-odd Democrats waving American flags.

So, I have one thing to say to conservatives: Jealous much?

The McCain campaign is ecstatic over this report from Reuters: "Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple . . ."
