The big Republican push against health care reform boils down to: "The government can't do anything right! Why would we let them run health care?" This, despite the fact that most people who have Medicare or Medicaid or VA health benefits seem to like it OK. Some pundits have even said "wait till you see what the government does if they get ahold of Medicare!" Which is infinitely stupid, since they already have ahold of it. But this quote sums it up best:
"And just wait until the government is running the FBI or the Air Force or the Navy or the Parks system or any kind of space program, or a meteorological organization, or some kind of disease control center, or collecting and then redistributing tax revenues from the wealthy states to the poorer ones, because then, well it'll be just like the CARS program that destroyed the World Trade Center Towers in New Orleans!! WITH SWINE FLU!!!!"
Which is more intelligent than almost anything uttered at one of those town hall mob scenes.
