Though the appearance of this blog may belie the fact at times, I am a graphic artist. And as a graphic artist, I have tired--to say the least--of logos with swooshes. It seems that if a company has existed for years, be it Dairy Queen or Triple-A, they "spruce it up" with swooshes.
It's tired, and it's over-used. They're as ubiquitous as Trajan Bold as a font. They're worse than droopy pants (a trend that won't die). Just stop it! There are other choices available! Rant over.
Do you need a cool new logo? Is your old logo lacking coolness? Well, why not join millions of other companies by adding a design element that screams cutting edge. That shouts future. That bellows progress. . .
