Stupid Monkey History Lessons

Posted by StupidMonkeyPlanet
George Mason, the father of the Bill of Rights, argued at the Constitutional Convention in favor of providing the House of Representatives the power of impeachment by pointing out that the President might use his pardoning power to "pardon crimes which were advised by himself" or, before indictment or conviction, "to stop inquiry and prevent detection." James Madison, the father of the U.S. Constitution, added that "if the President be connected, in any suspicious manner, with any person, and there be grounds to believe he will shelter him, the House of Representatives can impeach him; they can remove him if found guilty."

Thanks to the good folks at Velvetrevolution.us for pointing that out.

  1. And I believe it was George Mason who wrote the Pledge of Allegiance as well. And he wrote it with "one nation under God" for a reason people; because Jesus is our Lord and when you lord something over someone else it means they are above you, hence "one nation under God"! It's quite simple when you take the time to think it through like I do. One more thing, Sean Hannity is an agent of the Devil. Allegedly, I have no proof........

  2. Check your history before you pipe off NevadaJoe... The pledge was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892. It was those idiots the Knights of Columbus that sucessfully lobbied congress & added the words "under god" in 1954. Get it right before you open your pie hole... I know where you live.
Also, I checked around & you are right about Hannity.

  3. Oh, it gets even better. Bellamy was a socialist, and the Pledge was sort of an advertising jingle to sell flags, more or less.

"I pledge allegience to the flag, and how much money I can sell it for. . ."
