Oh, I just knew this was coming. On Sunday, FOX-TV aired an episode of Family Guy, where the main plotline dealt with Down Syndrome. Chris Griffin wanted to date a girl with Down Syndrome, since he'd heard they were nicer than ordinary folks. This culminated in a Broadway-style song by Stewie called "Down Syndrome Girl," followed by an actual date with the girl who--surprise!--turned out to be just as mean to Chris as all the other girls are.
Seth MacFarlane being who he is, he couldn't resist a little dig at Sarah Palin. When asked about herself, the girl tells Chris that her mother is the former Governor of Alaska. That was the extent of the joke. Never knowing when to ignore something, and going against her rule that "satire is OK," Palin--through her daughter--just had to comment.

. . .People are asking me to comment on yesterday’s Fox show that felt like another kick in the gut. Bristol was one who asked what I thought of the show that mocked her baby brother, Trig (and/or others with special needs), in an episode yesterday. Instead of answering, I asked her what she thought. Here is her conscientious reply, which is a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make about an issue that begs the question, “when is enough, enough?”. . .
