Why Aren't Democrats Fighting Back?

A better question might be, "Why Are Democrats Caving on Everything?" or even, "Do Democrats have any balls?" And by Democrats, dear reader, I mean the Democratic Congress, but you knew that, right?

A case could be made that this blog concentrates on negative stories about Republicans and positive stories about Democrats. Yup. This is primarily a left-leaning political blog. Moreover, it is a place for me to present to you stories and other items that interest me. Republicans doing good things, and Democrats doing bad things, for the most part don't interest me too much, to be honest! Hey, I never claimed to be fair and balanced.

Even so, Democrats have not gotten a 100% pass in this space (and a few positive Republican posts have made it through as well). It's no secret that the left half of the blogosphere is very disappointed in the current batch of Congressional Democrats. Here is an excellent piece on the subject from Daily Kos. Take a look.

. . .It is crystal clear that the Congressional Democrats are divided and incapable at best, and incompetent at worst. We have been through month after month of similar "showdowns", followed by similar collapses. This time, it at least has a financial price attached: if the Democrats are willing to sell out on the one overriding issue that brought them back into power, in the 2006 elections, at least we know they are able to use it as bargaining chip for other issues. Somehow, that is the exact opposite of comforting. . .
