Scott Walker, the Governor of Wisconsin, has been framing his standoff with the labor unions as a fiscal emergency. It doesn't have anything to do with "union busting," he's just pressed to the wall fiscally, and this is the only way to fix it. Fix it now! Time is of the essence? Of course, this was blown all to hell by the prank phone call he took, thinking it was billionaire David Koch he was talking to. There, he didn't mention a fiscal crisis. He talked about some sort of epic battle with the unions, and he was going to have his "Ronald Reagan moment." Ego much, Scotty?
Anyway, back to Shepard Smith, who had the audacity to stray from the FOX "News"/Gov. Walker framing, and tell it like it really is. You have to wonder if telling the truth is enough to get him fired from FOX.

Well, if true, he learned it from Obama who said everything was an emergency when he was first elected. Health care- emergency. Oil drilling- emergency. Bailouts- emergency. Everything was an emergency.

Everything in POLITICS is an emergency. TARP? Bush. Emergency. Patriot Act? Bush. Emergency. And wash, rinse, repeat. . .
ReplyDeleteOne of the interesting things here, Dan, is that outside of the blogosphere and select outlets, this story isn't making a very big mainstream splash. I find that odd.
ReplyDeleteAssume a prominent Democrat was enmeshed in a controversy in which there was a public outcry and revolt. It comes to light that George Soros funded this Democrat's election. Then it comes to light that Soros WANTED THAT VERY CONTROVERSY as the Democrat's FIRST big policy maneuver. THEN, the Democrat is punked, sucking up to a fake Soros on the phone.
How much mileage do you think FOX "News" and talk radio would get out of that story?
