Donald Trump: Obama Birth Certificate Should've Been Released Long Ago
Donald Trump reacted to the release of President Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate by the White House on Wednesday morning.
Speaking at a press conference in New Hampshire, the potential presidential contender said that he's "proud" in light of the disclosure. He added, however, "it is rather amazing that all of the sudden" the document surfaces. He suggested it should be inspected to ensure its authenticity. . .

You have to give round 1 to Trump. If it weren't for Trump and the polls, Obama would have kept playing this little game.
ReplyDeleteI think, if Trump and Obama were to run against each other, it would be a classic and very entertaining.
I don't think Obama was playing a game. He was refusing to play along. But with this nutty theory going full tilt into the mainstream, it was either shut it down NOW, way before the election, or maybe wait too long.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that proving Trump was wrong can go to Trump as a win.
I hope you're right, but I have my doubts. I've never seen any indication that there might actually be a limit to the Republican appetite for media whoring.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see Trump release his scalp than his taxes.
ReplyDeleteMonkey, Jon Stewart covered that VERY well last night. Seek it out at Comedy Central's site. Worth it!
ReplyDeleteThe more I think about it, the more I think Trump is serious. Yes, he is a show man and a media whore.
ReplyDeleteBut the GOP establishment are scared of him as well. Trump is liberal on many issues which will make him apealable to some liberals. And he is popular among conseratives.
He has the money to make a difference in the primary, if he runs.
When he mentions how many employees he has hired, how much he he pays for health insurance for his employees and how much he pays for employees pensions, he will make Obama look unqualified.
I'm not sold on his candidacy, but right now, the GOP has no one else, so he may win by default.
And if goes up against Obama, Obama will look like a an amateur against Trump in a debate, especially if Obama is not allowed to use a teleprompter.
I have my doubts that Trump is as fabulously wealthy as he claims to be. There's a reason the Soroses and Kochs--the guys with real money--prefer to be behind the scenes, pulling the strings.
ReplyDeleteBut I have a 180-degrees different opinion about how Trump would fare against Obama in a debate. In debates, they don't use teleprompters, except possibly with opening/closing remarks, and I don't think even then.
Obama doesn't shy away from questions he doesn't like, though he does finesse the answers. Trump has zero finesse. He gets pissed off if a question is asked repeatedly. He comes off as rude. Did you see his interview with George Stephanopoulos? "George. George, next question, George." He interrupts constantly. I think he'd come of as an utter buffoon, but it would be entertaining.
