Well, the usual racism and ,isleading information from Maddow.Benton Harbor always has been a rat trap for years and decades. The local government has been corrupt for years and decades as well. Somehow, that didn't make the Maddow show. This just didn't hapen overnight or last year or so, Benton Harbor has been a crappy city for many years, which was always surprising to me since it is on Lake Michigan. So, the GOP passed a law which is essentailly the same law that allowed 1 person take over the Detroit Public Schools a few years ago, under the Democrats, so this is nothing new in Michigan. It's only news for Maddow because it's the GOP doing it now. Now, I am kind of on the fence on this issue. I'd much rather have a city declare bankruptcy and start over than have 1 person have all the power. But what happens if a city can't handle it's basic needs? Keep feeding the beast with taxpayer money and nothing changes or do something radical and try and save the beast? But watching Maddow for the first time convinces me not to watch her again.
Maddow racist? Whaa? Are we watching the same clip? And is taking over the school system (not familiar with this one) the same as taking over a city? I dunno. Sounds like a bad idea in either case, getting rid of elected officials essentially. Turning a shanty town into a resort town at the expense of the residents sounds like a downright evil plan.
Dan, this Benton Harbor thing was made possible by a law signed by Gov. Snyder. Here's a link: http://michiganmessenger.com/47493/emergency-manager-law-already-forcing-unions-into-new-concessions.Do you have a link for the story you're talking about? And is it the same thing? As for Maddow, what was so bad about it? I find her quite affable.
