Many times during the unfolding of a big news story, you will hear politicians and pundits say "now is not the time," for finger pointing, for blame, for uncomfortable truths. But there truly is never a better time than when a story is fresh to point out obvious facts. And the fact is--despite what you've been hearing--that George W. Bush did not make catching Osama Bin Laden a priority.
You wouldn't know that if you listen to right-wing talk radio, or watch FOX "News." Or even if you listened to most high-profile Republicans. Most of them have taken great pains to avoid giving President Obama very much--if any--credit for catching and killing Bin Laden. Worse, they've taken equal pains to try to shoe horn in extra credit to George W. Bush. Bush doesn't deserve it, by his very own words.
