This video, riffing on the "no gays in Iran" quote from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is clever, and very funny. Adding Adam Levine of Maroon 5 was genius. Andy Samburg is shaping up to be the new star of Saturday Night Live. Sadly, the rest of last Saturday's show was lackluster. Using a sports star as your premiere host was probably not the best choice. And why was Weekend Update so anemic, with all of the incredible comedic material available over the summer?
Still, I won't give up on SNL. They rise from the ashes over and over again. As soon as some supposedly clever reviewer pronounces the show "Saturday Night Dead," it rebounds to greater heights. Don't let me down, SNL. . .
