They say you've officially "made it" if you've been spoofed on Saturday Night Live. And last night, the "cold open" was a parody of (Greenlee Gazette favorite) Rachel Maddow. The impression of Maddow wasn't spot-on, not nearly as good as Tina Fey's Sarah Palin, for example.
But it was generally ok, and the Roland Burris stuff was great. And while SNL can't ignore an easy gay joke--even with openly gay Neil Patrick Harris as host--it was generally not mean spirited. Anyway, congratulations to Rachel Maddow for being "big enough" to be parodied. Maybe next time the impersonation will be better.
