Catching Up With the News #3: Carl Paladino's Anti-Gay Rant

This past weekend, I was a lazy blogger. There were a few big stories I meant to blog about, but I got busy doing. . .nothing. So, in case you missed them too, here's what I skipped for a few days. . .

Crazy is the new normal. There isn't anything that used to be political poison that will disqualify a Republican/Tea Party candidate from potential viability.  Even so, GOP candidate for Governor of New York just gave an incredibly tone-deaf speech denouncing homosexuality--not gay marriage, or gays in the military--gay people.  Sure, the tea bagger hoards running for office this year have sporadically let their homophobia flags fly, but this is New York. Where there is not only a very established gay community, not only where the gay rights struggle began, but where a very high profile teen suicide and a anti-gay attack just occurred and are still in the news.  Unbelievable.
