You know, when a respected investigative reporter writes that the former Vice President of the United States was running an "assassination ring," unaccountable to anyone but himself, you'd think there'd be a bigger fuss made. So far, outside of Countdown with Keith Olbermann and the blogs, I'm unaware of much time being focused on it.
But there's finally a little more to the story, with writer Seymour Hersch amending his phrase to "assassination wing," and with former National Security Advisor John Hannah denying it. Sort of. At one point he uses the phrase "certainly true" and it sounds like he's affirming Hersch, albeit with some provisos that I didn't quite follow. See what you make of it.
