This is sort of a stop-gap post, awaiting a video clip of Keith Olbermann's fiery "Special Comment" from tonight's episode of Countdown. I just wanted to compare and contrast a couple of cable news programs that I watched this evening.
On Countdown with Keith Olbermann tonight, the big stories were the newly fascist state of Pakistan, and the issue of waterboarding as torture. Likewise, those were the top stories on Live with Dan Abrams on MSNBC. Big issues, with big implications, right?
Then, I flipped over to Hannity & Colmes, one of the highest rated shows on FOX "News." The big stories there? Some sort of controversy regarding the alleged racism of "Dog the Bounty Hunter," Dick Morris trashing Hillary Clinton for the bazillionth time, and Barack Obama's performance on Saturday Night Live. Were the other stories covered later? I have no idea, because watching this useless program gives me a headache.
