Happy Belated 50th to Berkeley Breathed

Berkeley Breathed was born on June 21, 1957. The Stupid Monkey Planet would like to wish a belated "Happy 50th Birthday" to a brilliant monkey.

My exposure to Mr. Breathed's talents began when I was just a young pygmy monkey. I had decided to deliver the newspaper tree to tree for some scratch. Each morning before I began to fold my newspapers I would take time to read the comics. Really I just thought I was cool for being the first monkey in the canopy to read them. In doing so, I would always read about the troupe in Bloom County. I became a huge fan of Opus, Bill, Milo, Binkley, Cutter John & his Starship Interpoop, Steve Dallas, Rosebud, Billy & the Boingers, Oliver, Milquetoast (Milktoast), Hodge Podge & the rest of the gang.

Cheers to a man that helped influence my cynicism, my criticism, my curiosity & my ability to question authority. From one barely hairless ape to another. . . Happy Birthday. Thanks.
