Evangelists to be Investigated for Tax Fraud

I have several sweet spots, when it comes to topics of interest. Corruption and hypocrisy among the rabidly religious is right at the top. It has as much to do with my sense of justice and fairness as it does my antipathy toward religion. So, when Congress decides it wants to look into the lavish lifestyles of some of the flashiest of these charlatans, I say, bring it on!

Senate Panel Probes 6 Top Televangelists

CBS News has learned Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is investigating six prominent televangelist ministries for possible financial misconduct. [snip]

The six ministries identified as being under investigation by the committee are led by: Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn. Three of the six - Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar - also sit on the Board of Regents for the Oral Roberts University. . .
