We've gotten quite used to corruption in government over the last seven-plus years. Oh, sure, there was government corruption before that. It probably goes back to the very first government. And who can forget the constant drumbeat that the vast right-wing conspiracy continually pounded about corruption in the Clinton Administration. Why, we'd never have uncovered fraud in Socks, the First Cat's fan club if not for them!
Still, the Bush Administrations frauds and foibles are in a class all there own. What would you do if your boss gave you a blank check, and no need to verify what you bought with it? If you're like me, you'd probably be pretty good at first, only "cheating" a very little bit. But what happens when you see your co-worker buying whatever he wants, and getting away with it? I'm pretty sure that sort of corruption would become contagious. . .
