Careers Cut Short #3: Cyndi Lauper

Part 3 in this series (can you tell I was driving around listening my MP3s today?) focuses on Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi has managed to sneak her way into the limelight a little here and there, but not enough, darn it! She is still regarded as an 80s novelty act by most people. That's not fair, and most of all not true.

Despite a quirky look, and unusual voice, she is a tremendously gifted singer, musician (that's her playing recorder in the song below), composer, producer, and even actress. If anybody on my list is primed for a comeback, it's Cyndi Lauper.

This song is from her 1993 album Hat Full of Stars, one of her many post-80s albums. Even though her last chart hit in the US was I Drove All Night in 1989, Cyndi's music--all of her music--deserves another listen. And a publicist that can get her on the charts! Enjoy the video.
