Huckabee's "Released Rapist" Problems Worsen

There is so much of this story exploding on the blogosphere, I hardly know where to start, or what to add. It would be one thing if then Gov. Mike Huckabee had mistakenly released this guy. But it looks like he actively tried to get the guy out, and possibly for political reasons. That's pretty bad.

And add to that the fact that he's all over the place on the response to the allegations. A simple statement of remorse, saying he made a bad mistake as Governor might have helped the scandal to slowly fade out of the news cycle. As it stands, it just seems to be growing. Even the crazies at FreeRepublic.com seem to think he's toast now. And if you haven't got their support. . .

Directly contradicting Mike Huckabee's claims, his former senior aide tells the Huffington Post that, as governor of Arkansas, Huckabee indeed told the state's parole board that he supported the release of a convicted rapist. . .
