I haven't had much holiday cheer up lately, and I'm running out of time. But what better time than now? Some of these songs have left the realm of old holiday specials, and joined the regularly played Christmas tunes. Which is cool.
I love the Rudolph special. It's especially appropriate this year, with the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. Rudolph was not allowed to participate in the reindeer games unless he hid his flaming nose. In the end, though, it was counterproductive to Santa's objectives to discharge a reindeer with a desperately needed specialty skill. It should be a lesson to all of us.
...and not to mention that male reindeer shed their horns in the winter... Santa's sleigh is actually pulled by a bunch of butch lesbians. Santa has always been progressive...

ReplyDeleteGood point, Jill! I've been compared to Hermey for so long, I guess I never saw deeper than his story. But you're right!
