Mike Huckabee Spreads "Birther" Nonsense, Says Obama Grew Up in Kenya

Mike Huckabee was asked by a back-bencher right-wing talker about President Obama's birthplace. Rather than state the obvious--that Obama was born in Hawaii, and that "Birthers" are bananas--Huckabee decided to play it safe. Sort of. He didn't answer the citizenship question, but wandered into a story about Obama "growing up" in Kenya, and how that might affect a person's development. Ahem.

Even the wackiest birther doesn't claim Obama grew up in Kenya, so Huckabee's story is just plain weird. He's even tried backtracking and "clarifying" his statement, but his revised story is no more credible than the original. . .

[Excerpt]

Huckabee backs away from birther claim, badly

. . .Huckabee had clearly thought this entire "Obama influenced by evil Kenya" script out in advance, so there's no way it was just a slip of the tongue. The entire thing was about Kenya. . .

  1. I used to think the birther and the Muslim issues were nonsense. But as time has gone by, I really have towonder. Why hasn't obama released his birth certificate?
Further, his behavior regarding the Mid-East is just puzzling. It always has been, but with the events going on lately in the Mid East, you really have to wonder. Why no enforce a no-fly zone in Libya? I don't think the Libya Air Force should be bombing it's own people. Enforcing a no-fly zone is very safe and a no-brainer, but Obama just won't pull the trigger, so to speak.

  2. Dan, he HAS released the birth certificate. The mythical "long form" with little inked footprints and the like is the thing that hasn't been released, and it NEED NOT BE. The one that was released is adequate for all legal purposes in the United States.

So, why hasn't Obama released the other one? Maybe to bait the birthers. Maybe because there's something embarrassing there (Mom & Dad not married? Who knows?) The point is, it is unnecessary. And if he did it tomorrow, THAT would be dismissed as a forgery by the birthers, you can COUNT on it.

Do yourself a favor, if you're really in doubt. Go to: http://www.obamaconspiracy.org/. They've debunked every--and I mean EVERY--birther conspiracy theory. It is all 100% bunk.

And without having to do that, just mull this around in your brain for a second. Obama's family posted his birth announcement in two newspapers in 1961. If those were faked, it would mean that his parents had to know that it would be some kind of issue 47 years later when their bi-racial son won the presidency. REALLY? In 1961, a bi-racial couple would even THINK their kid might one day run for president, and they'd better FAKE his place of birth? Bullshit!
