Karl Rove: John McCain Has Gone Too Far!

Karl Rove is the master of gutter politics. There is no ploy too underhanded, no trick to dirty for the man. But one of Rove's main rules is, you don't get caught red handed. You have plausible deniability. Your opponent might know you slimed him, but he shouldn't be able to prove it.

Maybe that's why Rove actually said out loud that John McCain has gone too far with his negative chock-full-o'-lies ads. Oh, he had to qualify it with a "Barack Obama's doing it too" statement--itself not true. But when a turd blossom disses your campaign, you know you're sleazy.

Rove: McCain went 'too far' in ads

Former Bush adviser Karl Rove said Sunday that Sen. John McCain had gone "one step too far" in some of his recent ads attacking Sen. Barack Obama.

Rove has leveled similar criticism against Obama.

"McCain has gone in some of his ads -- similarly gone one step too far," he told Fox News, "and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the '100 percent truth' test. . ."
